WCT provides a range of programs from musicals to vacation programs, and weekend workshops to afterschool projects. For an overview of the kinds of programs we offer, visit our ‘What We Do‘ page.

Online registration is HIGHLY recommended! Paper and email registration forms are still accepted, but they are slower to process, so for popular programs which fill quickly, we encourage the use of the online form.

WI3C/D – Tap dance and musical theatre go hand in hand – or, rather, foot in foot! Learn classic tap techniques, steps, and routines that are fundamental for the musical theater performer. WA3 – Looking to brush up your dance skills, scene work, and vocal performance? Then this is the workshop for you! In this 2 hour intensive, students will gain confidence and skills that will assist them in any audition, as well as receive feedback from a mock audition.

WSP3 – Baa! Moo! Cock-a-doodle-doo! Join us by the barnyard for a class filled with sing-alongs, arts and crafts, movement and dance, and more! Students and their caregivers will explore life on the farm with their favorite animals through many fun-filled projects and art stations each week.

WWH3 – To be or not to be… But more importantly, what to write? Writing for a single character onstage – whether a monologue, soliloquy, or solo performance – presents an exciting opportunity to develop a character’s voice. For first-timers and experienced playwrights alike, this class will help you focus your ideas and craft a unique story. This program may require some writing during out-of-class time.

WWC3 – A prop is more than just something an actor holds – a prop can define an entire character! In this class, students will build, experiment with, and develop performances using theatrical props such as masks, puppets, and more. Create props-based theatre from construction to curtain up!

WCY3B – Core CYC Members choose a major and minor focus area from the following: Lighting Design, Sound Design, Costume Design, Stage Management, Scenic Design/Painting, Properties Construction and Management, Makeup and Hair Design, Stage Direction, Music Direction.

Training with professionals in these areas provides students with the skills to confidently contribute to a production process. Successful completion of the Core program provides students with the opportunity to lead a technical or production process for a WCT showcase, One-Act Festival, Spring Shorts Festival or other production opportunity as members of the CYC Company. Core members are encouraged to explore several areas before choosing a focus and applying to the CYC Company program.

Bring theatre to your afterschool program! Watertown Children’s Theatre partners with Parent-Teacher Associations and school administrators to offer creative dramatics and theatre workshops as part of after-school clubs and enrichment programs. Students are able to participate in these opportunities in the comfort of a known environment and take advantage of school-sponsored transportation (like activity buses) where available.

Broadway Bootcamp is back! The show title is currently TBA, but we’re certain it will be a blast! This smash hit summer program is an exciting opportunity to mount a musical on the Mosesian stage in just two weeks! This musical intensive will have participants singing, dancing, and acting their way to a full performance on August 5. Besides playing a role onstage, all participants will work on backstage committees to bring costumes, props, and other production elements to life!

    Invent whimsical, magical characters with your body and your voice, as you work with an ensemble and gain theater and movement skills in this intensive!

    Sing and dance to favorites from The Wizards Of Oz, and write your own songs inspired by its fantastical characters!

  • Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion (Gr K-2)
    C70 – MIXED MEDIA SCULPTURE
    Mixed Media Sculpture. We will create one of a kind figures full of style and personality using a variety of materials!
  • Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City (Grades 3-5)
    C71 – DRAWING, PAINTING & MORE
    Drawing Painting & More. Experimenting with many painting tools, surfaces, styles and colors, we will use the story as inspiration to create masterpieces!
  • It’s a Twister! (Gr 5+)
    C72 – WHEEL
    Wheel. Learn to wedge clay, center on the wheel and experiment with basic forming and glazing techniques.

    Bring to life creatures of all types in this theater class! Act like an animal, write your own stories, and explore your wild side!

    C75 – CLAY ANIMATION
    Clay animation is one of many forms of stop motion animation. A simple story will be developed, characters will be drawn and 3D models will be made using plasticine clay. A very short stop motion strip will be shot at the class.

PRIVATE VOICE LESSONS

Strengthen your voice through individual lessons! Special attention will be paid to proper vocal technique, performance ability and stage deportment, as well as general music appreciation and awareness.

Tuition: $35/half-hour lesson
Location: Arsenal Center for the Arts, WCT Drama Space
Days/Times: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 12:30-8:30 pm (half-hour slots)

Notice: WCT’s Voice Lesson Policy allows students to keep their assigned slots as long as they continue to register in consecutive terms.* As a result, new slots only become available at the transition between semesters when/if any ongoing students decide not to continue. People who are interested in having voice lessons with WCT are kept on a Wait List to be notified as spaces become available.
